Housekeeping
Jun. 14th, 2026 06:32 amHi, everybody! Thank you for your interest in doing The Artist's Way together. Sign-ups are still open. With two weeks to go until our workshop starts, I thought I would do a little housekeeping.
Proposed schedule: Every week on Sunday, I will post a discussion for that week's chapter. That will give everyone time to chat, brainstorm, etc. before the week starts. The discussion posts will remain open for anyone who starts late, misses a week and wants to catch up, or just has a lot to say. During the week, you are also welcome to post to the community and share what you've been working on.
Week 0 will start on June 28. That week, we will discuss the concepts in the introduction (artist dates, morning pages, etc.) and there will be a separate post to introduce ourselves. Think of it as a
theartistsway friending meme and get to know the members of your creative cohort.
Community expectations: What happens in
theartistsway stays in
theartistsway. That said, you are never obligated to share your responses to the reflection prompts.
Please vote in this poll about whether weekly posts should be public or members only. If you have strong feelings about it, please feel free to elaborate in the comments.
There will be zero tolerance for sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, casteism, or other hate speech here. You are, of course, welcome to discuss how these and other social and systemic barriers impact your creative practice. You're not allowed to call someone else a slur or advocate for a system where some people are more equal than others.
Safety first: Please remember to protect your mental health. I am not a therapist. Julia Cameron is not a therapist and she does not work through a trauma-informed lens. (I remember from my first attempt at The Artist's Way that some of the activities felt more than a little victim blame-y.) If you need support, Find a Helpine has a list of helplines and hotlines in 175 countries.
